Probably nothing you didn’t need before the removal of your gland based on your dietary shortcomings. The difference would be how or when you take them AND you must discuss with your doctor so you both agree on what and how to take any supplement along with your medication. Once all or part of your thyroid is removed, you need a synthetic hormone medication to replace the thyroid hormones your body can no longer produce. Common thyroid medications are usually taken on an empty stomach and not in the presence of a multivitamin & mineral (MVM), iron or calcium supplements since they may hinder the absorption. Most foods should not be consumed sooner than an hour after taking medication and calcium supplements should be 4-hours separated (before or after medication). Most people are in need of a good daily MVM formula and separate calcium supplement to make up for common diet insufficiencies but please discuss ingestion timing and proper needs with your doctor.
