Yes, a properly formulated multivitamin and mineral formula (MVM) will raise your vitamin B12 levels. Make sure the B12 in the MVM is ~10-15mcgs and the form is Cyanocobalamin (it will state the form next to B12 on the label). If you have been diagnosed properly with low levels, make sure you retest after taking the MVM for ~1 month unless your doctor tells you sooner. Additionally, the MVM should be in a semi-controlled release formula in order to release its contents over time so you get the maximum benefit. A controlled-release delivery system not only ensures that nutrients make it through the harsh acid environment of the stomach (which is a digestive organ, not an absorptive one) but also allows them to be released overtime so not to overwhelm the body’s ability to absorb and utilize the ingredients, which would otherwise lead to partial excretion, rendering the product less effective.
